Судебная медицина, и её основной раздел – судебно-медицинская экспертиза, призваны помогать правосудию в изобличении преступника. Эта наука прошла нелёгкий исторический путь, прежде чем оформилась в своих организационно-процессуальных рамках, свойственных современному этапу развития человеческой цивилизации. От простых и примитивных форм освидетельствования до методов генного дактилоскопирования, компьютерного моделирования строения трупа и его телесных повреждений. Судебно-медицинская экспертная практика Республики Беларусь стала продолжением лучших традиций зарубежных и российских достижений в этой области, приобрела самобытность и оптимальную организационную структуру.

Forensic medicine, and its main section – forensic medical examination, is designed to help justice in exposing the criminal. This science has passed a difficult historical path before it took shape in its organizational and procedural framework, which is characteristic of the modern stage of development of human civilization. From simple and primitive forms of examination to methods of genetic fingerprinting, computer modeling of the structure of the corpse and its injuries. The forensic medical practice of the Republic of Belarus has become a continuation of the best traditions of foreign and Russian achievements in this field, has acquired an identity and an optimal organizational structure.
