RATIONALE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW DIRECTIONS IN HALLUX VALGUS CORRECTION TECHNOLOGY

https://doi.org/10.51922/2074-5044.2024.4.95

Abstract

The publication provides an analytical review of the literature regarding modern technologies for the treatment of toe deformities (valgus deformity), and evaluates their advantages and disadvantages. Extensive primary experience with minimally invasive technologies for correction of foot deformities through subcapital osteotomy of the first metatarsal bone and paraosseous fixation, results and outcomes is presented. The need to develop new technologies for correction of hallux valgus deformity is substantiated.
