Abstract

Gender dysphoria is a clinical condition in which a state of internal suffering, distress and anxiety occurs when a person’s biological sex and gender identity do not match. People who identify as transgender are more vulnerable and may have high rates of body dissatisfaction, which is often associated with eating disorders (ED).

The aim of the work is to study the relationship between dissatisfaction with one’s own body, nutrition, body mass index (BMI) of people with gender identity disorders (being examined at the state institution «Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Mental Health» (hereinafter referred to as the State Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Mental Health)), determining their relationship with mental status, as well as assessing psychometric diagnostics. The authors describe one clinical case of a patient of this profile with deviant eating behavior.
