Abstract

A new approach to the study of borderline personality disorder is presented, where its main aspects are considered as violations of the spatial-temporal and symmetrical-asymmetric organization of a person. It is shown that their main factor is the insufficiency of the work of the time spiral-the main element of the individual space-time model of a person, which determines its functioning and development. The phases of realization of the central symptom of this disorder – the affect of anger, are described: an escalation of internal tension, which is based on an increase in the asymmetry of its organization; affective explosion with self-harming by a person at the peak of extreme asymmetry; emotional reset associated with a drop in the level of asymmetry, and a feeling of relief of the mental state at the cost of internal devastation.
