Structural changes of the head brain during asymptomic arterial hypertension

Abstract

Arterial hypertension (AH) is one of the main risk factors for the development of cerebrovascular diseases (CVD), which in turn are one of the most important medical and social problems in the world and in our country. This is due to the severity of these diseases with temporary and permanent disability, a significant proportion of mortality from them in the structure of diseases of the circulatory system and total mortality from all causes. Long-existing asymptomatic hypertension leads to a slow progressing brain damage, with the manifestation of encephalopathy and with an increase in pathological foci (lacunar infarctions) in the white matter leads to the development of vascular dementia. The most complete and accurate picture of the presence and severity of brain damage can be obtained using neuroimaging – MRI of the brain.
