Abstract
This article will focus on the well-known symptom of heartburn and a disease closely related to it – GERD. In a concise and accessible presentation, the causes and mechanism of the development of the disease and symptom in particular, as well as their complications, will be described.
Detailed recommendations for adjusting lifestyle are given. It will be useful both for specialists with medical education and for a wide range of readers.
