Facial reanimation results evaluation

Abstract

In this paper, the main methods for evaluating the results after reconstructive interventions for facial paralysis are highlighted. The separation of methods into subjective and objective methods is indicated. The shortcomings of the existing subjective methods of assessing the severity of facial paralysis are reflected. The analysis of facial paralysis in 14 patients operated since 2014 in the Republican Center for Reconstructive and Plastic Microsurgery was conducted on the basis of the microsurgical department of the Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Comparative characteristics of the methods for assessing the severity of facial paralysis are exemplified by the example of the House-Brackman scale and SMILE smile symmetry scale, and correlation is revealed.
