3D-reconstruction of the channel of the lower alveolar nerve according to a computer tomography

Abstract

Proposed a semi-automatic mode of computer simulation algorithm for the nerve canal, based on computer tomography data processing. The discussed research deals with the adaptation of the classical «snake» method to the segmentation of images divided into a sequence of parallel planes. Arising problems and ways of eliminating them are considered. Used the threedimensional visualization algorithm, which takes into account the variability of the dimensions and shape of the nerve canal with high precision.
