Atrial fibrillation in therapeutic practice
Abstract
Atrial fibrillation (AF) in the practice of the therapist began to occur more often. Changed approaches to managing patients with AF. Triggers of the development of AF are inflammation and fibrosis in the myocardium, which are caused by the activation of RAAS and the transforming growth factor (TGF-β). In the arsenal of the doctor for treatment for AF there are new opportunities – it is radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Guidelines of the management of a patient with AF (ESC 2016) on the clearly defines the sequence of the doctor's actions in the treatment of a patient with AF.
