Bioecological consequences of the environmental pollution and ways to reduce them

Abstract

The problems of environmental pollution by unused medical waste of medical institutions and medicinal waste from the population due to the unnecessary, unsuitable, expired pharmaceutical preparations and related chemotherapeutic agents are considered. The bioecological consequences of the penetration of medicinal products and their metabolic substances into soil, aero and hydroenvironments, including ground and underground waters, and then, in plants, fish, domestic birds and animals were revealed. It is shown that one of the most dangerous channels of the secondary circuit of medicinal principles, which have a serious uncontrolled quasi-therapeutic effect on humans, is food chains of the form «pharmaco-infected water – plant food – people», «pharmacoinfected water – plants – animals – meat dairy products – people», «pharmacologically infected fish – people», as well as channels for direct transmission of drug impurities directly under the scheme «pharmacologically infected water – water treatment system – people». A set of mechanisms and measures aimed at reducing the concentration of pharmaceuticals and their metabolites in the environment and increasing the level of its environmental safety is proposed.
