В статье приведены исторические данные об истоках становления отечественной школы медицинской сортировки; раскрыты вопросы этимологии понятия «триаж», а также истории становления и развития учения о сортировочных алгоритмах, применяемых для распределения медицинских ресурсов в военное время и при чрезвычайных ситуациях мирного времени во многих иностранных государствах.
