Experience of correction of antipsychotic therapy with unexplained anxiety in a patient with schizotypic disorder based on the polymorphism of GST-M1 and GST-T1 genes

Abstract

The article deals with the case of correction of antipsychotic therapy with unexplained anxiety in a patient with schizotypal disorder based on found mutations in GST-M1 and GST-T1 genes, which indicate that glutathione-S-transferase enzymes have been impaired, which is the cause of non-specific endogenous intoxication by active metabolites of antipsychotics and the development of drug induced akathisia, which may be manifested by subjective complaints of anxiety spectrum.
