Cases of tick encephalitis in military servants
Abstract
Cases of tick-borne encephalitis often have atypical characteristics that make it difficult for a practitioner to make a diagnosis. The risk of misdiagnosis in such patients is obvious, given the severity and possible fatal consequences. In this case, high-tech methods of neuroimaging may be ineffective.
Meanwhile, the correct and timely clinical diagnosis based on a multidisciplinary approach to patient management tactics significantly affects the positive outcome of the disease. The authors of the article share their experience with colleagues about how they managed to arrive at a diagnosis. Clinical cases of tick-borne encephalitis occurring under the masks of acute respiratory infection, gastroenteritis and psychotic disorder are presented.
